you tube rewind

YouTube rewind has been an annual tradition on the website, it is a video made by the website to celebrate that year's biggest and most successful creators and make a video to 'rewind' the year. At first, they were well received and something to look forward to seeing the video come out. However the 2018 Rewind was not well received and in fact became the most disliked video on the website, currently sitting at 17 million dislikes. That years and previous years were mainly just a long music video of many songs put together with many of the YouTubers who were notable that year. That changed for the 2019 version which came out only a few days ago. This year they released what is essentially a list video and that still is being looked at negatively.

France and pensions

Recently the president of France, Emmanual Macron, is pushing for a pension reform which he believes will keep France more competitive in the global stage during the 21st century. This has caused mass protests in France with many people going out to the streets. Frances has a current 42 different pension system across all sectors, some advantages of this are that more physically demanding jobs like construction and railway workers can retire earlier than other jobs like lawyers and secretaries. But with this new pension reform, there would be only one pension system across the country. The protests have caused mass shutdowns of schools business and railways because people are going out to protest instead of working https://roguerocket.com/2019/12/05/france-strike/

South park makes fun of another group

In the most recent episode of South Park, the plot revolves around the satirization of transgender athletes. In the episode, a "Randy Savage" looking character comes to a female competition claiming to have just started identifying as a female two weeks prior and ends up winning the competition. The episode has sparked controversy mainly from the transgender community about how the show is being transphobic. One of the most famous or infamous transgender athletes Rachel Mckinnon called the show "lazily written and transphobic". This episode helps bring to light the issue of transgender athletes, males who transitioned to females, in women's sports. To those who claim they just want to keep sports fair, the transgender community claims it was never fair and allowing these transgender females to compete is no different as Micheal Phelps long torso or Yao Ming being 7'6. However, there needs to be some sort of segregation in the sexes for the sport to preserve

Hong Kong protesters vs police

The protests in Hong Kong have been going on for about 6 months now with the only major success being the repeal of the proposed extradition bill. Over the months of protests, the protesters have had to increase measures to protect themselves against police. The police have had increasing habits of using excessive force, beating and using defensive tools in an offensive manner. Their justification for such behavior is the police have labeled protesters as rioters and not as rally groups protesting peacefully. This skew in definitions has allowed for unjust arrests and has forced protesters at the front line to conceal their identity whenever protesting. People have also been wearing gas masks and googles due to the police using heavy amounts of tear gas as well as another way for the protesters to hide their faces. Also, any cameras throughout the city can be used by the police with face recognition software to try and identify a protester increasing the need to conceal their identity.

Apple invests in California

This past week apple pledges 2.5 billion dollars to help aid in California's housing crisis. Apple is following suit after other tech giants like google and facebook. These tech giants call California home and were conceived in the golden state and have flourished ever since. However, the housing market has been flourishing in prices at an insane rate. Now in highly competitive areas such as San Francisco and some other parts of the bay area, if prospective home buyers are not willing to pay 20-40% above asking price with cash on-site they will most likely miss their opportunity to buy that property. It does not get any better for renters either, they have been struggling to find affordable housing for years now often because a majority of what is available is far out of their price range. The reason for the insane housing prices is because of the tech giants employees drive up prices due to supply and demand. The demand for housing is very high and the supply is quite low. The tec

NCAA try to save face

The NCAA has finally come with the times and is now acting to "embrace change" by allowing college athletes to be paid for use of their name image and likeness. This is not a new problem and has been talked about and made fun of for years and years. Even the Olympics, the most prestigious sporting event in history, has allowed athletes to participate and sponsored for more than 30 years. So now that athletes in the NCAA will be able to profit what is next. It is agreed upon the school can not and will not directly pay the athlete. But let's say the coach of a team starts a shoe business and signs all his athletes to that shoe brand and any recruits who sign will get a shoe deal as well. Won't that create bad recruiting practices? What do you think

HAHHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I have already watched the movie Joker and I personally think it was fantastic and that Joaquim Pheonix deserves to have his rendition put up with the Jack Nicholson and Heath Leadergers joker. The new gritty movie despite its accolades has come under immense scrutiny for the gun violence shown in the movie. Groups of people are claiming it is going to lead to more gun violence or violence in general due to the main character enjoying when he kills people. Normally the antagonist is the one who enjoys hurting or killing people but in this movie, that character is the protagonist and people are believing that is not healthy. People are worried that this will encourage kids to commit more school shootings. My opinion on the matter is people are being stupid. The movie is R rated, its meant for people above the age of 17.  Now obviously they can still view the movie if accompanied by an adult which is usually their parent. Which means the parent is enabling and chaperoning them to go se
